Welcome to Shuman Koutory Event and Design. I’m Ashli Shuman — mom of four, wife, and your personal guide on this incredible journey.
From Early Dreams to Real Life
Before I ever dreamed of crafting unforgettable weddings, I watched wedding shows by mentors like David Tutera and Cowie. I imagined myself not just as a planner, but as a creator — someone who could bring magic to life.
I started out in cosmetology because I’ve always loved hair — the way it transforms a person and makes them feel seen and beautiful. On wedding days, doing hair and makeup was my favorite moment. It’s where the excitement begins.
Learning the Art of Weddings
Moving to Georgia, I had the honor of working alongside one of the best in the business — a mentor who taught me weddings are so much more than pretty flowers and dresses. Every celebration is a universe of its own: every timeline, every guest count, every moment perfectly unique.
In 2018, I realized it was time to step fully into my calling. Since 2020, Shuman Koutory Event and Design has been my home — and yours, if you choose to walk this path with us.
The Shuman Koutory Experience
Our goal? To create what we call the Shuman Koutory Experience — a celebration that feels like no other. We don’t do cookie-cutter. We do you. Every detail reflects your story, style, and love.
I’m currently studying architecture because I want your wedding design to have depth, dimension, and a distinct personality — something that’s never been done before. Every wedding is a canvas, and we paint yours with your colors and moments.
More Than Weddings
But there’s more to me than weddings. I’m co-founder of Infinite Connection Foundation, alongside my husband. We’re building spaces that support individuals with autism and disabilities — including a multisensory theme park and resource hub. If you want to know more, see here or just ask.
And when I’m not planning or creating, you can find me enjoying a seafood boil with steak, teriyaki chicken and rice, or sipping my favorite mango Hennessy margarita. And yes — sometimes it’s just a good old McDonald’s Sprite that hits the spot.
